Box 4162, Grand Central Station, New York, NY 10163. The Contest entry period begins August 4, 2008 and ends on November 14, 2008. All entries must be postmarked by November 14, 2008 and received by November 21, 2008. The J. M. Smucker Company ("Sponsor") is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected entries. Limit: One entry per person. The sandwich recipe submitted and photo must be original, created exclusively by the entrant, cannot be previously entered into a contest or published, must not be awaiting publication nor may it be submitted for publication consideration during or after the period of this Contest, and must not violate or infringe the rights of any third party, including but not limited to rights of copyright, trademark, publicity or privacy. All recipes must contain, and clearly state in the ingredients, at least two tablespoons Jif peanut butter. Recipes that do not list two tablespoons Jif peanut butter as an ingredient will be disqualified. Sandwich recipes must list all ingredients in exact common U.S. household measurements, and provide step-by-step preparation instructions. All ingredients must be available in most grocery stores. Multiple entries will invalidate the entrant. Any person who attempts to participate with multiple street addresses or under multiple identities to enter multiple times will be disqualified. All entries, including the recipe and photo submitted, become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. Food creation, in its entirety, must be an edible product. Once an entry is submitted it cannot be changed, altered or modified. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions on all matters relating to this Contest will be final and binding.

Judging: Initial judging will be done by an independent panel of judges for appropriate use of Jif peanut butter and will consider the following criteria: creativity, taste, nutritional balance, appearance and ease of preparation. The top recipes will then be prepared and judged by a qualified panel of judges and assigned points based on the following criteria and point system: creativity (1 to 30 points); taste (1 to 25 points); nutritional balance (1 to 25 points); appearance (1 to 10 points); and ease of preparation (1 to 10 points). The top ten entrants with the highest total points will be the Online Finalists (subject to eligibility verification). In the event of a tie, the tied entry with the highest score in the creativity category will advance. If a tie continues, the tied entries will be re-judged by a new judge using the original criteria.

Online Finalists: The ten potential Online Finalists will be chosen on or about December 19, 2008 and notified via telephone or mail. Online Finalists are subject to eligibility verification and cannot discuss their Online Finalist status with the public until notified by Sponsor or the public announcement is made. Online Finalists will be announced to the public on or about January 12, 2009 to participate in the online voting portion of this Contest on the Jif Web site (www.jif.com). Online voting is open to the public and will take place from on or about January 12, 2009 until February 13, 2009. Limit one vote per person and per e-mail address per day (12:00 AM ET to the following 11:59 PM ET). Voters must be at least 13 years old. Use of automated, programmed or robotic means of voting or use of any other artifice by a Web site visitor to submit votes in excess of the foregoing limitation on voting or otherwise to manipulate the voting totals is strictly prohibited and any votes submitted thereby will be discounted; such conduct will also be deemed by Sponsor to constitute tampering with the Contest (as discussed below). Each Online Finalist will be asked submit a video demonstration of his or her entry in VHS or any format on DVD. The video should include a full demonstration of how Online Finalist’s sandwich is prepared and a statement regarding how/why he/she invented the sandwich. The video should be not more than five minutes in length and should include both the Online Finalist and a parent or legal guardian. Videos must not contain any identifiable person other than Online Finalist and a parent or legal guardian and videos must not include any intellectual property of third parties, including copyrighted material (including but not limited to music) or trademarks. Submission of the video (a) constitutes and signifies agreement that the Sponsor and/or the Sponsor’s assignees may use the video for promotional purposes in commerce and in all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed without time limitation and without further compensation, except where prohibited, (b) grants Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the video in any way, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed, without time limitation and without further consideration, and (c) further constitutes consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in and to the video, including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights. Each Online Finalist’s entry will be re-created by a food stylist and photographed by a professional photographer using the same lighting and background. Food stylist and photographer used are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Each re-created food creation photo and description will then be placed online at www.jif.com to be judged by the public. Each Online Finalist’s first name and state of residence will also be displayed online with his/her entry. In participating in the Contest, entrant (and his/her parent/legal guardian) acknowledges and agrees that if his/her entry is selected as an Online Finalist: (a) while food stylist and professional photographer will seek to accurately re-create the food creation and Sponsor will seek to accurately display on the Web site the photograph and description of the food creation, the food creation as re-created and displayed (as well as the description of the food creation) may differ from the food creation as originally described and photographed by entrant (and his/her parent/legal guardian) due to technological limitations/malfunctions/errors/defects/modifications, and Sponsor and its agencies will have no liability related thereto; and (b) Sponsor may display the photographs (and accompanying descriptions) of the Online Finalists’ food creations in any order, pattern or format, at its sole discretion. Online Finalists will be judged by the general population based on the criteria above, with points being awarded to each Online Finalist as follows: 50 points for first place, 45 points for second place, 40 points for third place and so on. The top five entrants with the highest total scores from the first two rounds combined (150 total points possible consisting of up to 100 points from the initial round of judging and 50 points from the online judging) will advance to the final round as Event Finalists. In the event of a tie, the tied entry with the highest score in the creativity category from the first round of judging will advance.
