Nationwide Online Vote To Help Determine Five Event Finalists In Third Annual "Jif®'s Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest for Kids?"


ORRVILLE, OH, January 9, 2006 - A peanut butter sandwich could help pay for college… which one is up to America. Peanut butter fans nationwide now have the opportunity to help determine which child semifinalist recipe will advance to the finals for a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship fund in the Fourth Annual "Jif® Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest™." To vote, visit from January 9, 2006 through February 3, 2006.

Parents and children from across the country let their imaginations soar to create unique peanut butter sandwich combinations that included ingredients such as ham, eggs and yes, even pickles -- satisfying both the stomach and the creative mind.

About the Online Vote
The recipes that scored the highest in the initial judging round were prepared and narrowed down to ten finalists, who were chosen to display their creative talents online for a chance to become the nation's most creative peanut butter sandwich maker. Nationwide, the public can participate in the contest and vote online for their favorite sandwich by logging on to for a list of the ten finalists and photos of their winning sandwiches. Online voting is open to the public and will take place from January 9 - February 3.

Online Finalists will be judged by the general population via popular vote. The five entrants who score the highest in the initial judging round and tallied the most number of online votes will advance to the finals.

The five finalists will be announced on or about February 13. Finalists will participate in a live judging event in New York City in March. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 college scholarship fund and four runner-ups will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship fund. All finalists will receive a Jif® gift basket.
